My trip to Italy

The government plans to introduce a new law wichwill mean that young people must go to the school on Saturday mornings. In my view, this would have some negative consequences.

In first place, I believe that Saturday mornings are necessary to sleep or do some activities. Young people can't stop doing sport activities because it helps them to make new friends and be more healty. So if de law is introduced, I've no doubt that a lot of them will stop those activities to go to the school. Also I think that we've done a lot of hours during the week.

If the aim of the government is to improve the level of education, it seems to me that there's a better alternative: if they introduce again school in the afternoon the level of education will be better.

Something happened a couple of months ago wich was a real test of my honesty. I was with some friends and we were playing basketball in the Park. There were a man who was walking with his dog, to cut a long story short, I saw how his envelope fall of his pants. When I call him, I didn't saw him. A policeman suddenly appeared.

It's that envelope from one of yours?” He asked. “I'm searching one” We looked at each other guilty, then my friend spoke.
It's not mine” he said. He wasn't exactly telling the truth and I knew that I had to say something.
It's from a man who were walking with his dog” I said. “I saw it and I collect it” Surprisingly, the policeman didn't look too upset. “Well, I'm glad that you admitted it,” he said, “because I knew it. I saw you.”

In the end, the man was very gratefull and gave to us 10 pounds. I felt that i'd done the right thing.

This time last year, thingd weren't going too well for me. I'd moved to Australia and I left all in Spain. When I arraived at Australia I spend a lot of time with films and the TV. When people of my school says to get out and met people I always say no.

Everything changed for me the day I saw a programme about volunteering on TV. The volunteers were working with people of the third age, and both the volunteers and the people wer really enthusiastic and happy. They made me realize that I should be a bit more positive. I found out that volunteers in my town were working on it too, so I started to go to meetings.

These days, I feel much better. Working as volunteer has made me feel more sociable and happy. We're helping the third age people to made activities like visiting museums, doing some kind of sport, going to the cinema or the theatre...
